At Dynamic Edge Training we strongly believe that a sound nutrition plan is one of the most important pieces in the puzzle to obtaining the perfect balance needed for total health.  It has been said many times that abs are made in the kitchen not in the gym and this is a very true statement.  Being in the fitness industry for over 20 years we have seen many people try to achieve success in their fitness plans by putting most of their focus on their strength and conditioning rather than their diet plan. This equation simply doesn’t work!  80% of your results come from your nutrition plan so it is vital to pay very close attention to what goes into your mouth. Our favorite word at Dynamic Edge is balance.  We use the same word to describe our outlook on nutrition. To guarantee you have a sound nutrition plan you must have a balance of all three macronutrients: proteins, carbohydrates and fats. This is the number one rule of nutrition, balance your nutrients and you will be that much closer to your health and weight loss goals. The typical American diet is overloaded with carbohydrates and deficient in protein and good fats.

The next rule we follow is make sure you enjoy what you are eating, if you are not enjoying your food your chance of sticking to the plan is highly unlikely. Food should taste good all the time, not only when you’re eating in a restaurant. It is important to first list all the foods you enjoy to eat and then design a diet plan that will ensure success. It is also important to consult with a health and fitness professional or a nutritionist to make sure that you are getting exactly what your body needs. Every person has different needs when it comes to nutrition and it is important to have your plan customized exactly for you.

The last rule to mention when it comes to your nutrition plan is plan ahead!  “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail” is great quote to live by. We need to plan our meals day by day even week by week if you want to really stay ahead of the game. Plan your meals for the day to keep your energy levels high and blood sugar stable.
